The objective of U6 Soccer is to have fun! The children should be spending most, if not all, of their practice time playing games that involve running and kicking with the ball. Intense drill work is not required or desired at this stage.
The following skills are practiced at this level: dribbling, throw in, corner kick, and goal kick.
Team work is not part of this age group's vocabulary yet. Yelling at them to pass the ball will do little good. Let them have fun and cheer when they do something good. Encouragement and patience are the best assets to have when coaching and cheering this age group.
Registration for the Fall 2011 Season open through Monday, March 12, 2012. For more information, visit the In-House Registration page. Two registration sessions have been scheduled:
Both sessions are at the East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 East Main Street, Grove City.
